English Springer Spaniel-Poodle Mix

With a gentle and loyal personality, these designer dogs have an eagerness to please and entertain their owners. Playful and funny by nature, these dogs love to draw everyone’s attention and are often seen playing around. They love the company of their family members and are tolerant of kids and other household pets. The sweet-natured springerdoodles may even accept the presence of strangers when trained early in their life. Since they are mellow and calm by nature, they do not bark much.

Care

Moderate outdoor activities including a fair amount of on-leash walking and jogging are required to keep it in shape. When indoors, provide plenty of dog toys to keep it busy and mentally satiated. Although it does not need big spaces to utilize its energy, outdoor activities like running and playing in large open yards are something that it will enjoy.
Its soft, low-shedding coat requires less maintenance as compared to some of the other dog breeds. Gentle regular brushing with a bristled brush keeps its coat clean, removes dead hairs, and keeps away matting. To keep your pet cool during the summer months it is recommended that you clip its fur short, but allow it to grow longer during the winter months to keep warm. Bathing with a mild shampoo is required only when it is necessary. You may take professional help if you are not proficient in trimming and cleaning its coat.
In general, this dog is not known to suffer from any breed-specific ailments and is quite hardy. However, look out for some hereditary health issues that are common in other crossbreeds.

Training

Being a smart and easily trainable dog, the springerdoodle needs fewer repetitions of instructions to grasp the training that is given. Those who wish to see immediate results will enjoy training them. The owners will simply have to adopt a firm and consistent training method to shape their pet’s personality in a proper way. Adequate socialization, obedience, and off-leash training sessions are required to make the puppies learn the basic etiquettes required in a family pet.

Feeding

Like other medium-sized dogs, an adult sproodle should be provided with one and a half to two and a half cups of dry kibble regularly. A nutritious diet with adequate amounts of protein, carbohydrate, fat, and micronutrients is needed for its growth.
